Hi! I’m Shannon.
Hi there! I’m Shannon—the maker, dreamer, and designer behind CKC Designs.
By day, I’m a nurse practitioner and educator, passionate about caring for others and supporting future providers. But outside of work, you’ll usually find me with yarn in hand, dreaming up new designs with a cozy cup of coffee nearby.
I started this creative journey back in 2010, just after I began working as a nurse. My husband, Joel, gently suggested I find a relaxing hobby to help unwind—and that’s when I taught myself to knit. What started as a way to de-stress quickly became a source of joy. A few years ago, I picked up crochet and fell in love all over again with the creative possibilities. That eventually led to experimenting with a laser cutter—and now I blend fiber and lasered items into unique, handcrafted designs.
At CKC Designs, you’ll find everything from interchangeable crochet and wood charm earrings to cozy home décor, seasonal items, baby items, and thoughtful gifts. Each piece is made with care in my home studio, often with Liam and Nora—our two creative, curious kids—nearby offering their opinions and inspiration.
The name “CKC” was inspired by a sweet nickname from my in-laws who once called me the Critter Knitter, and it stuck! With Joel cheering me on every step of the way, this little business has become a meaningful extension of our family life.
